How to Make It — DIY Guide
Pipe it, press it, wear it — if you can frost a cupcake, you can make this. ✦
What's in your kit
Before you start: prep your cream bag
Takes about two minutes — here's how.
- Untwist the zip tie, take out a cream bag, and grab a piping tip (start with the finer one for details, the wider one for big swirls).
- Snip about 3/4 inch (2 cm) off the pointed tip of the cream bag — follow the cutting guide.
- Drop the piping tip in narrow end down into a clear outer bag.
- Slide the cream bag into the clear outer bag, right behind the tip.
- Twist the top and secure it with the zip tie.
- Give a test squeeze on scrap paper — now you're ready to pipe.
Make it in 4 steps
Beginner-friendly: 15–20 minutes to make, then air-dry flat for 24–48 hours. Work on a flat, clean surface.
Plan your look
Dry-arrange charms and letters on the base — before any cream.
Pipe the cream
Swirl the cream onto the base — like icing a cupcake.
Press in pieces
While the cream is wet, gently press in charms, letters and beads.
Cure & attach
Dry flat 24–48h, stick onto the reel, clip on and shine. ✦
Cream piping patterns
Same cream, different motions. Practice on scrap paper first.
Shell border
Open star tip
Hold at 45°, squeeze so the cream fans out, ease off and pull a short tail.
Pearl border
No tip
Hold at 90°, squeeze a round ball, stop, pull straight away.
Swirl border
Open star tip
Steady pressure, loop along the edge — builds a rope-like line.
Star border
Open star tip
Squeeze in place at 90°, lift straight off. Great for filling gaps.
Dollop border
Large open star tip
Build a tall dollop, release and pull up to a peak.
Care & tips
- Non-toxic, water-based resin glue — not food, please don't eat it.
- Want a do-over? During roughly the first five minutes, while the cream is still fresh, rinse it from the acrylic base with clean water. Dry the base completely and start again. Once the cream begins to set, keep it dry.
- Leftover cream? Seal the tube in a zip bag with the air squeezed out; unclog the tip with a toothpick. Great for decorating phone cases, keychains and pens too.
- Charm fell off after drying? Re-stick with a dab of fresh cream or a little super glue.
